Creating Self-Healing Communities by addressing the Social-Emotional, Educational, Technological, Health and Wellness Needs of our Senior Citizens, Women, and Teenage Girls.
Although vibrant, full of life, and a fashionista; our mother faced a plethora of health challenges that plaque many of our senior citizens and women of color. Heart, Kidney Disease, Diabetes, Respiratory, and High Blood pressure issues just to name a few. However, my siblings and I were fortunate enough to act as her advocates. During that process of going in and out of hospitals with her, we faced many challenges advocating for proper care and her rights as a patient. We also observed Senior Citizens who had no one to advocate or fight for them, and many of them abandoned and left alone. Senior Citizens are our forgotten population and it’s Vonzella’s Crown objective to advocate and let our seniors know they matter.
Our goal is to change the trajectory by improving the quality of life for our seniors, and women, by addressing their health and wellness, social emotional, and educational needs. This will be done by creating self-healing communities through charity, community service, advocacy, music, and the arts.
VONZELLA’S CROWN WAS FOUNDED IN MARCH 2020 IN HONOR OF OUR MOTHER VONZELLA C. CLAYTON WHO TRANSITIONED TO HER HEAVENLY HOME ON FEBRUARY 27, 2020
AT A GLANCE
Since Vonzella’s Crowns inception in March 2020, the organization has serviced over 65+ senior citizens and women in the greater Trenton NJ area. The organization has been able to address their social emotional, health and wellness, and food insecurity needs through, community service, advocacy, technology, and therapeutic art.
Vonzella’s Crown also services women and teenage girls through its women’s support group, Unbroken Women, a faith-based women’s fellowship under the direction of Melanie Clayton. Unbroken Women provides a safe, loving, and non-judgmental environment for discussion groups, workshops, and creative activities that create self-healing communities.

Our Mission is to Educate, Transform, Empower Women, and Senior Citizens in the City of Trenton NJ, through Advocacy, Community Service, Music, and the Arts.
